Add Network Printer to Teacher MacBook or iMacs
- Go to the Networked Printer (There should be a green light on back).
- Press Menu
- Down Arrow to Reports -Press Check Mark
- Down Arrow to Network Setup –Press Check Mark
- Take printed paper and find printer Fully Qualified Domain Name
- Go to laptop which the teacher has already logged into the network.
- Click on the Apple at the top of the Finder Bar
- Go to System Preferences
- Click on “Print and Fax”
- Click the + sign to add printer
- Click on IP Printer Tab at top
- In Address Blank:Type in “es3226vmcore01”
- In Queue Line: Type the “Fully Qualified Domain Name” from the sheet
ex. CP322621WLY9
- In Name Blank Type: 1L450r_ _ (The Blanks are for the Class Room #)
- Generic Script for Driver---Drop down arrow to “Select a driver” Start typing 450d and the Lexmark e450dn driver shows up. Choose that driver by clicking on it and click “Add”
- Once added it will show the printer as idle. Double click on the printer and from the menu at the top “Printers” choose Print Test Page
Make sure the teacher knows that they have to select the 1L450r** from the drop down menu when they print to use the network printer.
